I went downtown with some buddies after work today, and look what greeted us: a smashed Filene's! Why couldn't they use the building for something else? I bought some shoes to console myself.

The whole building isn't being demolished, just the 1950a and 1970s portions. The 1912 building and the facade of 1905 building are being preserved.
I've never been to the east coast, but I know the name Filene's. I glad to hear that they are preserving the older portions. I hate to see old buildings destroyed, which is too common in California.

That's great! Thanks for letting me know, anonymous.
