April 12-18 I will visit my Dad. My old college buddies Barbara and Brenda will be joining me. Brenda has only been in NM briefly and Barb not at all. Shall we visit the Boneyard? I don't even know if it still exists. (This place sold animal bones and skulls for decorative purposes.)Update: My sources tell me that it was call "A Big Pile of Bones and Other Stuff," and that it has since vanished. I guess I'll have to find something else for us to do.

Colleen, if you're thinking of "A Big Pile of Bones and Other Stuff," which was on the road between Espanola and Taos--it's long gone. Your friends are safe.

when we went to scottsdale AZ a few years back we so desperately wanted a cow head with horns to hang over the woodstove. they were 15 bucks. we couldn't figure out how to get it home on the airplane though. this was pre-9/11 and we maybe could have gotten it through if it was carefully wrapped and in its own suitcase... but today? never. we'd have to drive it home.
